CLIMATE MANIPULATION

Air quality and control is a major consideration in indoor gardening. We carry a wide selection of ducting, fans, controllers, and odor control products.By creating a controlled environment, indoor gardening offers many advantages over outdoor alternatives. However, without adequate ventilation, the plants may consume resources, including oxygen and carbon dioxide, faster than they can be replenished. Adequate gas exchange is essential for optimal plant growth. Ventilation is also an important method for maintaining an optimal temperature for plant growth. Advanced grow room even include air conditioning to keep running temperatures down, as well as carbon dioxide to boost the plant’s growth rate.

Certain plants emit a distinctive odors during growth. This can present difficulties to those who are sensitive to odors. The most common way of eliminating odor is by pulling odorous air through a carbon filter. Many cultivators simply attach a large carbon filter to their air extraction system, thereby filtering any smell before the air is expelled from the area. Another way of eliminating odor is by installing an ozone generator in the extraction ducting. The odors are neutralized as it mixes with the ozone; however care must be taken to prevent excessive ozone concentrations as ozone itself has a distinctive smell and is harmful to living things, although the molecule breaks down quickly in atmospheric conditions.

All Seasons staff can assist you in selecting the correct fans, duct work, and odor control products for your specific needs. Come in and ask us!
